Modest Marvel: Urooj Shakeel (ISNA, Day 1)

It's embarrassing at times to be caught doing a double-take, but Urooj's classic red top was why double-takes were invented.

Name: Urooj Shakeel
Background:  Currently residing in Michigan State, Urooj graduated from Wayne State University and manages a physical therapy business with her father.
What we love about her style:  Did we mention how much we loved the red top? (So much so that I did a 10 minute search for it online to post!)  It wasn't just the red top that caught our eye, but the texture and movement the asymmetrical pleats brought to the outfit.  Styled with the bright pink shoes, we had to have Urooj as a Modest Marvel.
About her style: She's a self-described vintage shopper and loves to mix in classic pieces with something trendy.  "It's important to take care of clothes," she stated, describing how she dry cleans her clothes regularly to help maintain their quality.
About her:  In addition to managing a business, Urooj also draws in her spare time and loves to decorate baked goods.
No-limit gift card:  BCBG. "They have such feminine, classy, and modest clothes! They're so unique and you don't have to put much effort into [wearing] them."

Modest Marvel: Marie Turcotte (ISNA, Day 1)

Marie was hanging out with not one but TWO strollers before we approached her.  It's amazing she looked this put-together while taking care of so many kids!

Name: Marie Turcotte
Background:  It's no wonder that we loved Marie's stripes and white pants look - she was previously a fashion buyer all over China before becoming a childcare provider.
What we love about her style:  We can't help but love a great pair of white pants!
Favorite pieces:  She loves tops, but has a weakness for shoes and bags.
About her style: Casual chic - in between trendy and relaxed
About her:  Marie is from Canada but currently lives in Dubai, a cousin to another fashion friend of ours - Seema at Modern Mary
Her no-limit gift card:  Bloomingdales

Modest Marvel: Essra Azim (ISNA, Day 1)

Sometimes you see an outfit and mentally memorize every piece of it, because it's THAT good.  I literally chased down this Modest Marvel from halfway across the ISNA bazaar to learn more about her outfit and her style.

NameEssra Azim
Background: Essra is from East Lansing, Michigan and a student at Michigan State University, graduating in the spring with a degree in psychology.
What we love about her style:  The neutral on top of neutral and blues of her hijab were so elegantly coordinated that they were worth the chase!
Favorite pieces:  "Blazers!"  Essra finds layering a must and enjoys blazers for how they allow her to blend into modern dress.
About her style: "Posh.  I love Victoria Beckham!"
About her:  We loved her smile and the support her friends gave her as we interviewed her!
Her no-limit gift card:  "BCBG, for sure!"

Modest Marvel: Noor Tagouri (ISNA, Day 1)

I spotted Noor out of the corner of my eye.  She was there promoting her friend's (Marwa Atik) line, Vela Scarves, and the beautiful color combination and texture of her outfit was impossible to turn away from.

Name: Noor Tagouri
Background: Noor is currently a student at the University of Maryland, earning a degree in Journalism, but also works for WPGC 95.5 in Washington, D.C and is a poet.
What we love about her style:  Her unmistakenly amazing pants, with the pleats and movement, and clean colors of her scarf caught our eyes, making it impossible to turn away.  Her top is from Zara and her pants are from Egypt, a gift from her grandmother.  Her scarf is a Vela scarf, for which she was helping promote for a friend.
Favorite pieces:  "Vela scarves and boots in the fall."
About her style:  Very bohemian and vintage, she's frequents Urban Outfitters.
What are you looking to achieve in an outfit?:  "I tend to dress in business attire and very professionally."
About her: Noor aspires to be the first Muslim-American broadcaster on American television.
Her no-limit gift card would be for: Zara and BCBG
