I've always heard that it's important to differentiate between "wants" and "needs."  Knowing this difference is not just a financial necessity, it keeps buyers remorse at bay and your closet cleared of those worn-just-once items.

That said, I NEED these pants.

And thanks to a little belated 30th birthday present and this email I got this morning, they will be mine, for only $26!  For the summer months, I love cropped pants, and these especially, with their high-waist cut.  Cropped pants fall at a sophisticated ankle-length without breaching the calf-capri length, and with a box-cut tunic top, offer a summer silhouette that keeps you cool, comfortable, and covered - a Muslim girl's summer style.

It's hard to visit the Piperlime site, especially when their signature Lime Tag sale is ongoing, and not exit without a few other things in hand...so I didn't.  My current basket includes the following:

Skirting the Issue with Peplum Tops

I can't get over peplums.  I just can't.  For a while, I didn't know what peplums were (a peppy plum?) and when I initially discovered them, I didn't get it.  NOW I get it.  I see them everywhere and want them so badly - but always wonder how to wear them.  Peplums seem to be geared towards tight and fitted

...but thank you to the fashion industry for recognizing a few new ways: peplums with wide leg pants and peplums with maxis:

So you see, it's hard to resist.  Any why try?  There are many different ways to style this new fashion staple modestly, so make it happen!

Peplums, part II (aka How to Wear a Hi-Low)

If you loved the peplum look but prefer a longer look, another way to achieve a peplum is work the hi-low trend with a pair of ankle-cropped pants.  Layer with a foundation.

Peplums for all!

A few weeks ago, Kristen Wiig graduated after 7 years on SNL and looked positively smashing in this peach peplum dress.  While I initially thought peplums looked like something out of The Jetsons, I'm drawn to the floating waist and clean look.

The key to rocking a peplum as a Muslim woman is to balance the looser top silhouette with a fitted bottom.  Try these on for size to achieve that peplum look with Muslim modesty and style!
