Gaze-droppers: The Skinny on Printed Pants

Hello and happy Saturday night (or Sunday morning I should say).  What have we got for you now, you ask?  Well folks, it's the printed pant.  Tired of that pesky gaze getting stuck up north?  Well then move the action to your bottom of course!  As the title implies, adding prints to your pants will drop that gaze for sure.  It's a great way to break up the style rut too.  We've offered some solid tops to balance out the excitement - accessorize to go bolder, or keep it calm at just two pieces.

Peplums, part II (aka How to Wear a Hi-Low)

If you loved the peplum look but prefer a longer look, another way to achieve a peplum is work the hi-low trend with a pair of ankle-cropped pants.  Layer with a foundation.

Hi-low in solids:

 Hi-low in florals:

Hi-low in brights:

And a few finales to for you to create your own modest Muslim style! The animal print hi-low tunic would be great with this REMIX we posted a few weeks ago.

FAVORITE FIND: Women's Crochet Tunics from Old Navy

Lace, ladies - it's here.  I've been on the hunt for a cool, affordable lace top and Old Navy has delivered.

For only $22.50, this cream-colored lace tunic is great as a wardrobe staple and also comes in a beige option.  It can be tucked into a pair of wide-leg pants, serve as the base for a peplum, or peek out from a number of blazers.  Get an extra 2% back in cash if you purchase online!

Peplums for all!

A few weeks ago, Kristen Wiig graduated after 7 years on SNL and looked positively smashing in this peach peplum dress.  While I initially thought peplums looked like something out of The Jetsons, I'm drawn to the floating waist and clean look.

Lady love: SNL's Nasim Pedrad, Kate McKinnon, Vanessa Bayer, and Abby Elliott all helped send off their castmate Kristen

The key to rocking a peplum as a Muslim woman is to balance the looser top silhouette with a fitted bottom.  Try these on for size to achieve that peplum look with Muslim modesty and style!

Peplums in all colors!  Wear with a long tunic tee for added modesty and fitted ankle pants to balance the top.

Here are a few other peplums tops available to create this classic yet trendy look.

REMIX: Denim Jackets, Maxi Skirts, and Chambray Shirts

You may have seen our post on maxi skirts, perhaps even coveted a few of them, but ultimately weren't sure what to do once you had them.  "How do I style this modestly, yet stylishly...without having to buy extra clothes?"

Chances are that you own each of the items worn in this post from Atlantic Pacific.

Though I'm not a fan of the popped collar look, here it works (and hence why you should only do a trend if it looks good, not because it's trendy!)

Drawing from a few things perhaps already in your closet (a denim jacket, a button down - this version - chambray shirt, and a maxi skirt purchased here), here's an easy way to get this look.

Denim jacket and chambray top from Old Navy - $34.94 and $17.50. Blue maxi skirt from Target - $18.  Raspberry maxi skirt from Piperlime - $42.97.
